Seeking Assistant County Administrator

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the full-time position of Assistant County Administrator.  The Assistant County Administrator is responsible for oversight of county functions with limited supervision; providing staff support to the Board of Supervisors and other agencies; assisting the County Administrator, department heads and employees in dealing with day-to-day operational issues; and collaborating with adjacent communities regarding concerns of mutual interest.

Combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in business, public administration, planning, or engineering supplemented by considerable experience of a responsible nature in a management/supervisory level position is desired.  Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred.

Seeking PSA ENGINEER

The Carroll County Public Service Authority is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the full-time position of PSA Engineer.  The PSA Engineer will oversee professional engineering activities to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, codes, ordinances, policies, and best management practices for County, Public Service Authority, and Industrial Development Authority projects.  The PSA Engineer assumes a high degree of responsibility for all major capital projects initiated by the PSA and its supporting agencies.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 7-10 years of proficient experience in civil engineering that includes water, waste-water, and roads.  Knowledge and experience in writing Erosion and Sediment plans is necessary.  The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years of project management experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities.  Experience with large water and sewer projects is preferred.

The PSA Engineer will report directly to the Executive Director of the PSA.  A valid VA Drivers License is required along with a Virginia State Application and Resume. Review of the applications will begin on January 12, 2009
